By using a single piece of sheepskin, both the inside and outside are preserved in their natural form, offering a unique combination of comfort and functionality. The dense wool on the inside creates a natural temperature-regulating effect – it warms when it’s cold and releases excess heat when it’s warm. Additionally, the wool’s breathability ensures that the material feels pleasantly dry, even with extended use. The suede exterior is soft and flexible, allowing it to mould to the foot and become even more comfortable over time, while also providing a natural and elegant surface. Sheepskin can also be processed in other ways, where the wool is separated from the skin and attached to another base, such as cowhide, resulting in a different texture and feel. By preserving the sheepskin in its entirety, SHEPHERD® creates products where all the natural properties work together for optimal warmth, comfort, and durability – a timeless quality that only improves with age.

Many are surprised when they find out that our slippers are made by hand, each piece cut out by hand to achieve the best fit. As each sheepskin has a unique colour and texture, it takes experience to work it and sew it correctly. Everything is produced in Europe, and having our own factory means we have control over manufacturing and preparation to be able to offer the highest quality.

We never compromise in terms of the material and we always use 100% sheepskin of the highest quality for our products, which we call “double face”, i.e. sheepskin inside and out. Choosing a quality product pays off in the long run and by choosing a pair of slippers from us you know you’re getting 100% genuine sheepskin, and that’s a feeling that must be experienced.
